We recommend aerating before laying seed to open up the soil to let water and nutrients down to the roots while also giving existing roots room to breathe and grow stronger.
Over seeding is good for filling in bare/patchy spots in your yard and filling in and thickening a yard with very little existing grass. Plus, who doesn't love a thicker lawn?!
